The Copenhagen Series

In this personal creative project, I am getting in touch with people I haven't met before in Copenhagen and having them show around me their favorite spots in the city as I document them through photo/video.

My study abroad program in Copenhagen is exclusively for American students - which means it can be difficult to meet Danes. I thought this project would be a great way to meet locals and interact with all types of different people, while also stepping outside of my comfort zone and pushing me creatively.

This project is allowing me to get to know the city better - in a more personal way, and through the eyes of those who know it best.

Pictured above is Katja. She's a singer who is currently taking a year off her studies to record an EP. She's full of life, disarmingly kind, and showed me around some pretty cool spots - including Bolsjefabrikken (an awesome, graffiti-filled space for underground concerts, artist workshops, and café nights), Refshaleøen (an island in Copenhagen harbor), and Freetown Christiania - and told me stories the entire way.

Mathias, pictured above, was the first person I met up with. I reached out to him via Instagram (find him at @mathiasmilton - he's an incredibly talented photographer!). We spent the afternoon exploring the Norreport area, including visiting the Botanical Gardens.
